YOU UGLY, YEAH, YEAH, YOU UGLY!

As I'm writing this I'm watching an actual fight. I'm not sure if these men are homeless or just drunk and poorly dressed. Either way, park security just got involved, and it was really intense they were hitting each other so hard and screaming in Spanish! I have to start coming here more often.
My apartment is the same, no internet of course, which is why I'm always using the free wifi at random places. I've been having to sleep with headphones in because there have been people setting off fireworks close to my apartment. But other than that I can't complain.
I went to a really good church on Sunday, no one really talked to me all that much or was really welcoming but the service was good and I could see myself going regularly. The whole church visiting process has really opened my eyes to what it's like to be new in a situation where you don't know anyone and you are literally praying someone will start a conversation with you. Never again will I be someone that sees a visitor and hopes that someone else will go talk to them. I now know how hard it is. But I know God will reveal the church He calls me to in time and will provide valuable friendships for me there.
The people I work with are so nice and always concerned for my well being because of where I am living. Today,Tori gave me a Safety pamphlet that a police officer gave her. She gave it to me as sort of a joke, but sadly I learned important info that I didn't know before, like easy way to spot criminals before entering the elevator or if someone asks for your wallet or bag you just give it to them. I'm pretty sure if they don't have a gun, I'm saying no...then running away if possible.
I also told them about an article I saw in the subway that morning when I was reading over someone's shoulder. They told me that you aren't supposed to do that on the subway and it's a huge no no. Little do they know, I do it all the time and no one has ever said anything. I'm sneaky. It's even easier than pretending that your not listening to someone's conversation.
Working at Fretless has actually been really cool, all the people that they represent always have some sort of cool story (or a jingle they are notorious for.)
Like yesterday, a girl named Karen came in who used to work there and she used to be in a band that was big in the UK and the only song they ever really got big with was that U-G-L-Y song from Bring It On. After that, she came to NYC and started doing jingles. Now, her and her best friend are trying to become writers for television. They came in yesterday and wanted my co-worker Tori to look at some scripts they wrote for Gossip Girl and 30 Rock. I thought that was so cool! But there are a lot of people like that that Fretless represents.
When our boss Andree (it's actually pronounced like Andre...Agassi) is gone we listen to the radio, the only thing is every song I love Laura and Tori hate it. So I now take flack for loving that new PCD song and sat silently when they made fun of that John Mayer song. But, they listen to showtunes all the time so they shouldn't be hatin'.
I'm officially an employee at Old Navy, starting next friday I will be training to fold clothes and be nice to the people that are there to mess up everything I fold. I'm excited because I definitely need the money. I just hope they are willing to work with my schedule at my other job. I can't wait to show those high school kids who's boss/King of Graphic T's and cargo shorts.
